Encode 360 2.0 Final

Don’t get too excited. I haven’t made much in the way of code changes, it’s mainly just to bring the components up to date - although there’s been a few tweaks here and there.
Encode360 2.0 Final Changelog:
CHANGE: Updated K-Lite Codec Pack to 3.9.5
CHANGE: Updated MediaInfo to 0.7.7.1
CHANGE: Updated compiler options to hopefully fix some unmanaged [...]

Encode360

Encode360 2.0 RC2

This release is primarily to bring some components up to date, and some minor code changes to hopefully prevent against a few problems. I spent some time yesterday investigating the possibility of removing K-Lite and configuring the codecs on the fly through Encode360, but it just looks too difficult to do right now
Given [...]

Encode360

Encode360 2.0 RC1

After 9 months in beta, it’s time I took this puppy towards a stable release
A few points to note…

The app can only ever be as stable as WME is, and your Codec configuration. If Enc360 can’t encode a video, try encode it in Windows Media Encoder. If you hit a problem here, [...]

Encode360: Codec Configuration - Best settings to prevent problems

So I’ve spent literally, HOURS trying to figure out the best codec configuration to prevent against encoding problems with Encode360. I can’t make any guarantees that this won’t have knock-on effects elsewhere ( ) and it definitely won’t fix every problem but it’s fixed the majority of issues for me (bar 2 video [...]

Encode360 2.0b6 Released!!!!

It’s been an awfully long time coming, but I figure that’s it high time I released a Stable build. For everyone who’s stayed with 2.0b5 since the last release around Christmas, there’s been a LOT of changes….
Encode360 2.0 beta 6 Changelog (Abridged):

NEW: FLV & WMV Support
NEW: Ability to Drag/Drop re-order of items in the [...]

Encode360 news (sortof)…

So I’ve done a rather quick refresh of the existing development build (2.0 b6a2) - this is a fairly minor update. Basically I’ve just updated the MediaInfo components which will hopefully rectify a few bugs relating to source media info detection.
Also, I noticed that MS released a patch (KB929182) for WME 9 when running under [...]

Encode360 Source Available

It’s been a while coming, but I’ve finally managed to get a Subversion respository up and running and the Encode360 source code released. You can access the respository with an SVN client such as TortoiseSVN or AnkhSVN. The address is svn://svn.dcunningham.net:443. By default, everyone has read access to the repository, but for the moment, [...]

Encode360 2.0b5 Released

All,
I’m semi-pleased to release a new beta of Encode360. I say semi-pleased, because I’ve implemented a couple of nifty new features that are bound to please a number of people. I’m semi-unhappy, because I didn’t manage to get everything in here that I would’ve liked to. I’ve gone ahead and released anyway, as I was [...]

Windows Media Encoder

DirectVobSub and Windows Media Encoder?

While doing a bunch of testing on the next release of Encode360, I’ve come across a very peculiar problem…
It was discovered by Dave Schlicky that Matroska videos with subtitles, which display fine in Windows Media Player, don’t get subtitles when encoded to WMV by Encode360. I don’t use MKV’s so I never noticed the problem [...]
