So, apart from a few remaining bugs which I’m working with my company’s test team to resolve, WMA 1.0 shouldn’t differ than much from RC2. That said, I haven’t heard much in the way of feedback since RC2 so if you’ve found any bugs please let me know. Also, I’d like to get an idea [...]

After some very positive feedback regarding 1.0 RC1, I’ve been working hard on the next build. There’s been some massive internal changes around threading that should make the application much more responsive, and free up more CPU cycles for ScanState / LoadState itself so performance will hopefully be improved across the board.
This has introduced a whole [...]

In my company, we have a lot of laptops as our staff mostly work out of the office. They constantly VPN in to get their mail, and our recommended best practice is to replicate their Lotus Notes mail rather than working online. However, when setting up a laptop for a new staff member, that meant [...]

So there’s been a lot of talk over the past few days about Apple’s mechanism for deploying the Safari browser on Windows - basically the same tool that’s used to keep iTunes and Quicktime up to date. The problem is, even if you don’t have Safari installed, you’re prompted to “update” (i.e. install) it. In [...]

Well, it’s been in development for quite some time, but I’m finally happy enough with the feedback from both my own company and external testers to make a more public release.
Please note that this IS a release candidate and as such, may be prone to a few bugs that have yet to be discovered. Rest assured [...]

Ta-dah! I finally got around to finishing off my re-vamped site. Everything’s nicely spruced up, cleaner and easier to navigate. I’d rant and rave about all the cool new stuff, but seriously, I’m the only one likely to be excited about it so just have a mooch around and see what you think.
Additionally, the forums now [...]

Hi all,
So the private beta seems to be going quite well. There’s been a number of issues that have cropped up and have been resolved. Given the work I still have left to finish off, I’m hopeful that I can have a public beta within the next two weeks

Heh, so it’s all taken a little bit longer than I would have liked, but I think I’m finally in a position to let people start playing with the Workstation Migration Assistant. There’s probably a whole heap of bugs that I haven’t found yet, and this is where I’d appreciate some assistance. I don’t have [...]

It’s very hard to come up with a good User Interface for an application. There’s a lot of factors to be considered: feature set, screen real-estate, ‘flashiness’, and most importantly, target audience.Complexity in the UI causes complexity in the code - a checkbox here means disabling a button there. Options set in the app configuration [...]
