Been using this for the past week and very impressed so cheers Dan.

Couple of feature requests if possible which would improve the usability:

    1) An estimated time remaining for the entire queue rather than just the current file would be great.

    2) List the location of the output folder. If you manually select it and relaunch the app you don’t know where the files are going. If you uncheck and recheck the box you have to specify the destination path again.

    Cheers.

      Hey Phil,

Firstly, it’s not possible to estimate anything past the existing file I’m afraid :( And secondly, it’s already possible to see this. To keep the UI clean, I’ve moved this into a tooltip though. Just hover over the checkbox and you’ll see the path :)

      Cheers, Dan

Any chance you could make the new xbox encoding change a toggle option? Although it is more reliable now, I was finding the older method was only failing in about 1/5. I’m now have to local copies, and find myself trying my videos in the older quicker method first. If they fail, then I plop them into the newer “fail-safe” encodehd. While this does waste some time when I do get a fail, it saves about 2-3 hours every time I don’t.

      Hey there,

When you say ‘fail’, you mean the file won’t play on the Xbox, correct? I encountered this problem during testing and my thoughts are that with a toggle, the average person is just going to go for the faster option, be unable to play the file, and think the app is unreliable.

Would a command-line switch be sufficient for you? ie, create two app shortcuts, one with the switch /ForceVideoStreamCopy (or something) and run accordingly?

      Cheers, Dan

A toggle would be great – or a tick box with a great big warning when checked that the output might not be playable would be ideal.

I’ve yet to have any unplayable media with the stream copy option and it would be a shame to see the feature disappear when I update due to the massive timesaving I get.

        Cheers,
        Stevo

    Hi,

Love the app, but i get a anoying errormessage. I try to encode WMVHD files to a iPad file. I get the following error message:

    ffmpeg.exe Error while encode ‘C:\….’
    Can not resample 6 channels @ 48000 Hz to 2 channels @ 48000 Hz (Exit Code:1)

    Hope you can help.

    Cheers, David

      Hey David,

This is a problem with FFmpeg being unable to downmix 5.1 audio to 2 channels. Unfortunately there’s nothing I can do about this :(

That’s to bad :(. Newer version of ffmpeg won’t do the job?

Afraid not. The release of FFmpeg with EncodeHD is actually pretty current :(
