Love this program! One of the few that support the Xbox 360 and still keeps everything clean and simple.

One thing though; last night I tried to encode a Matroska file to the Xbox360. Only the Xbox doesn’t recognize the outputted MP4-file. EncodeHD didn’t return any errors.. Weird!

      Hey,

Have you tried renaming the file to .M4V or .AVI? X360 is a bit flakey like that sometimes.

      Cheers, Dan

Renaming it to .AVI did the trick! Thanks :)
    Keep up the good work!

I was wonder if the Apple TV profile can be updated to 1280×720, since Apple Tv support it. Thanks

      Hi Robert,

The Apple TV profile does already have 720p support. However, only for H.264 encoded content, obviously the input video has to be 720p or higher (so it can be scaled down) and the framerate of the input video must be 23.987 / 24 FPS.

        Dan,
Ok, I’m confused about apple Tv having 720p in Its profile. I did a test on several HD inputs files @ 1080p ripped from a blu-ray disc. I did have the box checked for H264. I tested PS3 profile. the output was 1080P. WD TV output 1080p, Youtube HD output 720p and Apple Tv output 960X540. I have no luck getting the apple tv to downscale to 720p. I’m I doing something wrong. Thanks

    Hi Dan,

Just tried a conversion using the XBOX 360 setting and I was impressed with the speed and video results. One issue though. It dropped the AC3 5.1 and now only plays back in PCM mode (non 5.1).

    Thanks,

    Chris

Yep. There’s some bugs fixed in the latest release. It’s always worthwhile upgrading :)

And no, EncodeHD is and always will be donationware.

Hi. I thought I’d give you a small, quick suggestion: Please update your app icon! It looks pixelated and low res in Windows 7.

You’re right, it does – but I’m no icon designer. If somebody wants to create a nice EncodeHD icon that’d be great.
