EncodeHD Status Update
Hey Guys,
Just a quick post. I’m a little behind on the next release of EncodeHD. I’ve been hard at work trying to implement support for soft-subtitles on Apple devices. In the process I’ve managed to break numerous things, so trying to get a number of bugs sorted out. Meanwhile, I’m extremely busy with work, and my evenings are being spent repainting my apartment! :O
Stay tuned, the next release isn’t too far away. Oh, and if anyone is interested in helping me test soft-subs, please get in touch!
Dan

Hi,
thx for this cool encoding tool
What about integrating CUDA technology for faster encoding?
br John
Great software! And stable on Windows 7 too! WOW!
Would it be possible to include a PC WMV HD option, because this is the only converter Ive found that will convert the dreaded mkv! I would like to keep the HD resolution/quality and the 5.1 surround of the MKV file but just in WMV. Itll stream no problem then over my home network.
Hi Jonathan,
EncodeHD is specifically for the MP4 format. WMV with 5.1 audio isn’t possible with FFmpeg, although it is possible using Encode360 – which is a bit of a pain to install.
Adam Thursby did a good write-up of how to get it working on Windows 7 though. You can find it here: http://thedigitalmediazone.com/2009/05/21/encode360-still-a-great-solution/
Thank you for making the best encoding software in the world! I have tried various versions of free and paid software and NONE come even close to this piece of genius. I love this software, its solved all my iPod video watching problems. Thanks!
Perfect work dude, keep working
