First, let me thank you for all your work on Encode360 and EncodeHD, these tools *really* eased my video conversion effort for the XBox 360!
Now my question: any word on the subtitle integration part? :)
Please keep up the good work, best regards, Pedro Lamas
Hardsubs can’t yet be done using just FFmpeg. I *am* working on integrating Softsubs-support. Unfortunately, the X360 doesn’t support them yet, only the Apple devices :\

Well, I can live without subtitles, but I hope Microsoft will some day allow at least NTFS support on the Xbox 360…
Keep up the good work Dan, best regards, Pedro Lamas
I’m having a problem utilizing EncodeHD – I get an error saying that it can’t resample 6 audio streams into two – I suspect the issue is that I was trying to output to the AppleTV profile, and while the original one only supported stereo, the newer one allows 5.1. Thus, an updated AppleTV profile or a way to manually override the streams would be nice addition.
thanks,
Ben
Couple minor requests-
Id love it if the queue would remove items as they are completed. Now if I walk away and leave it running, when I come back I see the same list I started with. Using Handbrake, etc., the convention is to take something from the list when it is complete.
When I encode for iPhone from a .mkv file, it always stretches the video to the iPhone resolution. The same video as a .mp4 or .avi source maintains the proper original aspect ratio.
Any quality settings? I find it tends to keep the original quality, which is good, but can mean larger files than other encoders.
Thanks again, great app!
I had initially implemented item removal, but I kept getting requests to take it out! People kept forgetting what they had finished encoding and having the list on-screen when the process was finished seemed to help. I’ll look at putting it back in maybe.
Hmm, can you get me a log of this happening?
Quality *can* be modified by changing the FFmpeg settings in the advanced interface. If you want to limit the bitrate, use “-b 1000k” where 1000 is your preferred bitrate. I don’t intend to make this a UI setting, as it tends to confuse matters for non-technical people, and simplicity is what I think sets EncodeHD apart from other encoders.
Cheers, Dan
I’ve got the log file, here’s one for one of the stretched files:
- Edit by Dan: I’ve taken out the log as it was pretty big
