EncodeHD 1.0.89.0 Released

Hi all,

Another minor bugfix release, as I’m still pretty limited on time at the moment – this should sort out the major outstanding issues though:

  • CHANGE: FFmpeg updated to SVN-r18709
  • CHANGE: MediaInfo updated to 0.7.15 (Fixes MediaInfo unable to detect audio streams in some MPEG2 video files)
  • FIX: Incorrectly set buffer size on non-English locales causes FFmpeg bitrate error
  • FIX: Frequent audio drop-outs when stream remapping was required

Download is available in the EncodeHD section.

Cheers, Dan

    Hi,

I have installed version 1.0.89 on windows 7 and while trying to convert a dvr-ms file to iPod Touch, the conversion stops after a couple of seconds and I get the following error on the log:

Encoding has started but the filesize is not increasing. This may be as a result of an unsupported video or audio codec.

Do I need any additional codecs? Any ideas on how to solve this?

    Nuno

      Hi Nuno,

Sorry for the delay in replying. Could you send me a log file please?

      Thanks, Dan

I was having the same problem as Nuno when trying to convert an .mkv file for XBox 360. Was a solution found for this error?

is there a way to specify a target output filesize? I really don’t want to split files but I’ve got a couple that come in at just over 4gb. It wouldn’t take much to get them under…

      Hi Rob,

Sorry about the delay in replying. You could force a lower bitrate in the Advanced options by specifying, for example “-b 2048k” which limits the bitrate to 2MB. I’ll look into methods of limited the output filesize.

      Cheers, Dan

I love the simplicity of this! Input file, click, and go!

Question: it seems not to have properly cropped the video. It took a 16:9 and made it a 4:3.

      Hi Matt,

Sorry for the delay in replying. Could you send me a log file please? It shouldn’t be cropped and should preserve the original aspect ration.

      Thanks, Dan

    Hello Matt,

I am too having an issue with converting MS-DVR HD videos to the Zune preset. Was there any resolution for @Nuno and his Ipod?

The program works great on any other formats I have tried.

    Thank you.
