Hi Jeff,

There’s full logs of everything in the Migration folder, under Logging. Scanstate_Progress.Log is a good place to start – it’ll quickly show you all the users that were backed up.

Hello. Downloaded 1.09 and chose the option to backup all profiles on the computer. I only see one when I back up, Is there some log file that will show all the profiles that were backed up?

It’s a bug I’m afraid. WMA is looking for the same files in USMT3 as in USMT4. The problem is, MigSys.XML (I think?) doesn’t exist anymore. If you just create an empty file, it should bypass the check.

Ran MigAssistant and USMT 3 on XP SP3 32-bit machine with appropriately modified XML files to capture state.

Ran MigAssistant and USMT 4.01 on Win 7 Ultimate 32-bit. Got “ERROR: RuleSet files were not found in the WMA folder. (C:\Program Files\USMT4.01) An attempt was made to copy th edefault RuleSets from USMT failed. The application will now close.” [ I got this same error running USMT 4.01 on the same XP SP3 box. Cannot install USMT 3 on Win 7.]

Have admin rights all around. What is this really telling me? What solution does it lead me to?

Great! Ah, that’s good to know. I’m using this tool as a complement to our new deployment solution (MDT2K8+WDS). We switched to a non-roaming-profile setup and with change in the organisation people tends to move around alot. Keep up the good work and thanks again!
