Keep it simple. We know that if you're a geek, you can pretty much script FFmpeg yourself :) EncodeHD is aimed at people who want a click and go solution. At the moment, I'm not implementing much new feature-wise, until I'm confident that most of the encoding issues are resolved. At that point, I'll investigate things like Advanced settings, video stitching, command-line automation etc. That's a great idea. If I could ask you a favour, would you mind submitting it as an actual feature request to cases@dcunningham.fogbugz.com ? I would also recommend it to a lot of people I know who don't like to learn anything new.... so the simpler the better for them. I hope you implement an options mode or advanced mode where additional settings could be adjusted. One thing I really like about HandBrake is that if you pause the mouse over any control it usually gives you something telling you A> What it means and B> what a "sane" value for that field would be. I'm part of quite a few 360 communities and I can tell you that there is a very large number of people that use Encode360 and who also are anticipating EncodeHD's release. I give you the best advice that I've ever recieved: "Never give up. Trust your instincts." - James McCloud, Star Fox. Many people are interested in EncodeHD, you may think that there aren’t many but people usually express their interest at whatever community they follow. I’m part of quite a few 360 communities and I can tell you that there is a very large number of people that use Encode360 and who also are anticipating EncodeHD’s release.
