Random tidbits

And now for something completely different

A mate just sent this link to me. All I can say is Oh…. My… God… I’m so mortified for these actors. Please tell me it’s a joke.

Incidentally, the Dublin Gaze festival is on at the mo. Supposed to be some very good stuff on, including Queering the Pitch, the documentary about the Emerald Warriors which was co-directed by a mate of mine. Congrats Tom & Co! :)

And the rather brilliant UnaRocks has started a new blog, JacksGraff, v funny ;)

When you say multi-thread, do you mean support for multi cores? I’m on an Intel Core Duo so if that currently isn’t supported then i can only imagine how fast the encoding will be once thats released :)

Ooops, I meant supoort for multi-core. Updated to reflect…

So my 1.6 GHz Core Duo has only been running on 1 core when it comes to Encode360? If so, that’s awesome. Means the encoding should be even faster after your break :)

Any efforts to fix the error “Encode360 2.0 has stopped working”? I’ve been on the forums and many people are having trouble with even getting your latest build to run. Thanks for the awesome app.

Nevermind. I got it to work by simply installing Windows Media Encoder 9.

Dustin: From what people are telling me, it’s only running on 50% on each core of a dual-core machine. If we can notch that up on each, performance should improve.

Matt: I’ve spent months trying to solve that issue. If I could even just get a more descriptive error about not having WME9 installed I’d be happy. My latest ‘attempt’ at working around this was building the installer which checks for WME9 before it’ll allow the install. It seems that in some cases though, this doesn’t always work and still allows the install to happen without WME9. Will keep racking my brain though to see if I can do something better….

I usually set the priority to ‘Above Normal’ when i run Encode360. So i’m not entirely sure if that is increasing the encoding speed. Either way, can’t wait for the next version that has multi-core support. Amazing work, seriously. I’ve tried Transcode360 and TVersity and i just can’t get them to work with Vista and my router.

    Hi Dan,

i just installed Encode360 and it won’t run. Vista says that it was shut down by Data Execution Prevention. I do have Windows Media Encoder installed. Any ideas??

Also, will it convert the ms-dvr files to WVC1?

    Thanks!

Have the same problem. Uninstalled K lite then installed WME 9 before I installed
encode 360 2.03. No apparent problems during install process.
When I try to open – Message says – Encode360 2.02 (not 2.03????) has stopped working.
